Portfolio Summary showing Total Portfolio Value, Total Invested Capital, Unrealized P/L, Realized P/L, and Portfolio Return
Example 1. Portfolio Summary from the live dashboard.

The Portfolio Summary shows the most important numbers for your account in one place. It combines your stock holdings and your cash balance to give you a clear picture of how your portfolio is performing right now.

Total Portfolio Value

The current rupee value of your entire portfolio, including both stocks and cash.

Formula: Total Portfolio Value = Current Stock Value + Available Cash

Practical meaning: Use this to see the real size of your portfolio at today’s prices.

Total Invested Capital

The total amount you have actually put into your open positions.

Formula: Total Invested Capital = Σ (Average Buy Price × Quantity) for all open holdings

Practical meaning: This shows how much money is working in the market right now.

Unrealized P/L (Profit/Loss)

The profit or loss on your open positions based on current market prices.

Formula: Unrealized P/L = Current Stock Value − Total Invested Capital

Practical meaning: This moves up and down with the market and becomes real only when you sell.

Realized P/L

The profit or loss you have already locked in from closed trades.

Formula: Realized P/L = Σ (Sell Amount − Buy Cost − Fees) for all completed trades

Practical meaning: This is money you have already gained or lost; it does not change with price moves.

Portfolio Return (%)

The overall performance of your portfolio, combining both realized and unrealized results.

Formula: Portfolio Return = (Unrealized P/L + Realized P/L) ÷ Total Invested Capital × 100

Practical meaning: Use this to compare your performance against benchmarks or alternative investments.
